One of Ireland’s villages most famed for its music is staging a music festival from Thursday 15 April to Monday 19 April 2010. Kilfenora will be alive with music, song and dance again this April with a series of spectacular events. Click here for further details

Masters in Music
Masters in Music
On the 26th of November 2009, the National University of Ireland Galway awarded, John Lynch the leader of the Kilfenora Ceili band with a Master of Music (honoris causa). In awarding the degree on John, NUI Galway honoured not just the current Kilfenora Céilí Band but all those renowned musicians of earlier decades, from Kilfenora itself and from elsewhere, who have created a century of outstanding musical tradition. This was a very special for John, his familiy and all the band members, both past and present who were invited to the confering cermony and special reception in the Aula Maxima where the band played once again after a 73 year gap.
